Inspired by the book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine this is a 4 part series exploring the ways that these 4 representations of masculinity manifest in our lives.
The Archetype of the Magician - the energy of initiation and transformation.
In this third session we explore the archetype of the Magician and use the video essay by Like Stories of Old as a guide. According to Scott Jeffrey, 'The Magician plays the vital role of the ritual elder who blesses the younger generation, allowing them to mature into manhood' and that the ritual elder is mostly absent in our society.
And so we ask the question who is your ritual elder or magician in your life? In what ways do you connect with this energy of transformation and initiation? Do you possess internal resources that help you to connect to this power? Are there people around you who help to serve this purpose?
About the Series
This series is a part of a rolling series of Men's Circles held at Fairfield Uniting Church. They are an opportunity for Men to come together and explore important themes and ideas. They are an opportunity to sit with like minded men in a space geared towards curiosity and deep listening.
