Inspired by the book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine this is a 4 part series exploring the ways that these 4 representations of masculinity manifest in our lives.
The Archetype of the King - the energy of just and creative ordering.
In this first session we explore the archetype of the King and use the video essay by Like Stories of Old as a guide. In it's truest expression the King archetype is centered, decisive, lives with integrity, protective and inspires creativity in others. In it's shadow form the King is a tyrant, a weakling, and engenders division in the community and in the self.
Using meditation, sound immersion, movie yoga and deep listening we explore the myth of the king and how it does (or doesn't) live out in our personal life.
About the Series
This series is a part of a rolling series of Men's Circles held at Fairfield Uniting Church. They are an opportunity for Men to come together and explore important themes and ideas. They are an opportunity to sit with like minded men in a space geared towards curiosity and deep listening.
